TRAINING

H&S INDUCTION (one-off)

This e-learning module provides key information for all new permanent, temporary and casual employees on being safe at work.

MANDATORY TRAINING (ONLINE - in e-Safety System)

ANAPHYLAXIS e-learning (2 years)

Provides staff with the essential information about recognising and providing an emergency response to anaphylaxis, a life threatening condition, together with information about key departmental policies and strategies to manage and support students diagnosed as being at risk of anaphylaxis.

To access this learning, open the e-Safety page (can be added to your portal as an icon) and go to the catalog. They can be found under WHS Mandatory Training. Click enroll. The learning will then show up in your My Training page

e-Emergency Care (3 years)

e-Emergency Care (APTSs) provides simple, effective treatment and management protocols to support staff to manage common emergencies. The lessons included in this module closely reflect the types of illnesses, incidents and accidents most commonly occurring in schools, school activities and on excursions.

SCHOOL COMMUNITIES WORKING TOGETHER (one-off)

This e-learning module has been developed by the NSW School Education sector to raise awareness about anti-social and extremist behaviour in our schools.

MANDATORY TRAINING (ONLINE - in MyPL)

CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING (annual)

This self-paced online training course builds on the Mandatory Child Protection Training 2018, by providing detailed information about responding to child protection concerns, and following these up – including making a report to FACS Helpline or contacting the Department’s Child Wellbeing Unit. This contributes to all students being known, valued and cared for. 

CORRUPTION PREVENTION (annual)

This corruption prevention e-learning course is designed to help you understand your role and responsibilities in preventing corrupt conduct in the workplace. It also aims to increase staff awareness of corruption prevention issues.

To access this learning, open the MyPL page (can be added to your portal as an icon) and go to the catalog. They can be found in the Quick Links on the left, or in the Browse Learning tab. 

MANDATORY TRAINING (face-to-face)

These are usually delivered as a whole team during staff professional development or staff meetings. If you have not completed any of these items of training, please let your supervisor know.

LOCAL H&S INDUCTION (one-off)

This is an introduction to the local site, evacuation procedures and first aid. Usually delivered by the principal (or delegate).

CODE OF CONDUCT (annual)

The Code clarifies the standards of behaviour that are expected of Departmental Staff in the performance of their duties and guidance around ethical decision making. As a school, we combine this with Gifts and Benefits Review; Private & Secondary Employment Review; Private Interests Review.

CPR & ANAPHYLAXIS TRAINING (annual)

Usually delivered during our term 1 SDD, this covers the practical delivery of CPR and the use of Epi-pens, combining Recognition and Management of Anaphylaxis training with CPR. Delivered by a third-party provider.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK (5 years)

A Working With Children Check is a requirement for people who work or volunteer in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and a review of findings of workplace misconduct. Staff cannot work at the school with an expired WWC.

CONNECTING TO COUNTRY 
(TEACHERS ONLY, 3 years)

Our teaching staff attend Connecting to Country Training run by the Northers Illawarra Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group (or an equivalent awareness program) once every 3 years.

PART 1 & 2 
(TEACHERS ONLY, one-off)

E-ADMINISTRATION OF PRESCRIBED MEDICATION AT SCHOOL (3 years)

While not mandatory, as a small school there is a high chance you will be required to administer medication to children at some point. This online module covers the procedures for the safe administration of medication

BE YOU (TEACHERS & SLSO'S - one-off)

Be You provides educators with knowledge, resources and strategies for helping children and young people achieve their best possible mental health. While not mandatory, as a school we have committed to this learning as part of our Wellbeing focus.
